About

Dr. Anil Sapru is a Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He completed his PCCM fellowship and Masters in Advanced Studies in Clinical Research at UCSF in 2004 and stayed on as faculty.

Dr. Sapru's research is focused on studies of pathogenetic and prognostic significance of biological markers in children with critical illnesses. His research program has been funded by the NHLBI and NICHD for over the last 10 years. He is on the scientific steering committee of the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators (PALISI) and the national steering committee of the NICHD funded Collaborative Pediatric Critical Care Network (CPCCRN). As a principal investigator of CPCCRN leading critical trials in the PICU, he has brought UCLA and UCSF together in participating in clinical trials rolled out by the network.

In addition to being an outstanding critical care physician, with experience in both the PICU and CTICU, Dr. Sapru is also highly regarded for mentoring junior faculty and fellows in their career development and research endeavors. Dr. Sapru is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care.
