Gerald Asare Bempong, MPH

Program Coordinator

Gerald A. Bempong is the Program Coordinator for the Department of Medicine Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. He also serves as a Coordinator for the NIA-funded Resource Center for Minority Ageing Research - Center for Health Improvement of Minority Elderly (RCMAR-CHIME), where he works closely with the Program Manager, Cristina Punzalan to organize, and plan events for the Center, manage digital platforms, and amplify the Center's mission. In his previous role, Gerald served as an administrator for the Coordination and Evaluation Center at UCLA  (CEC), working closely with lead investigators of the Center to provide operational support for the NIH-funded Diversity Program Consortium (DPC) and the Enhance Diversity Study (EDS). Gerald obtained his BSc in Chemistry from the University of Ghana, Legon, and his MPH from Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, focusing on Urban Health Disparities.
