Moira Ann Desphy, MPH

Moira Ann Desphy serves as the Education Coordinator for the Department of Medicine Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion — presently she is housed under Internal Medicine-Pediatrics. She is responsible for special projects including the Sexual and Gender Minority Health Programs (LGBTQ+ program LGBTQ+ fellowship, Gender Health). Moira coordinates special events and activities, in addition to providing programmatic support for faculty, residents, and medical students. Previously she served LA County as a Public Health Investigator during the COVID-19 Pandemic managing outbreaks and conducting death surveillance. She has also worked in research under Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (Mental Health in Filipino Youth), USC Viterbi School of Engineering (Tracking Individual Performance with Sensors), and Georgetown University (NGS based HLA typing). Moira graduated from Keck School of Medicine of USC with an MPH concentrated in Global Health and from UCLA with a BS in Neuroscience.
