Dr Jijun Huang is an assistant project scientist in Dr. E. Dale Abel's Lab in the Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA. Dr. Huang obtained his B.S. in Marine Biology from the Ocean University of China and completed his Ph.D. training in Stem Cell Biology at the Institute of Health Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai. From 2017 to 2022, Dr. Huang conducted postdoctoral research in Professor Yibin Wang's Lab in the Department of Anesthesiology at UCLA.

Dr. Huang’s research focuses on the mechanisms of postnatal heart maturation through posttranscriptional regulation (Circulation, 2023) and identifying novel targets for treating Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction (Circ Res, 2024), which is more common in aged females and people with hypertension, obesity, or diabetes. Dr. Huang utilizes both wet lab and dry lab technologies in my research and is currently the bioinformatician supporting the whole lab’s data analysis projects. He is particularly interested in leveraging AI tools for scientific research and education. Dr. Huang is a recipient of both the postdoctoral fellowship and career development award from the American Heart Association.
