Christina Randall is a 1st year Master’s in Nursing student at the UCLA School of Nursing. She grew up in San Diego and completed her undergraduate degree in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior with a minor in Spanish at UC Davis. Before coming to UCLA, her experience working as a Medical Assistant at Planned Parenthood allowed her to gain an intimate understanding of the importance of providing judgment-free care to people of all backgrounds and identities. In this role, she saw first hand the damage of misinformation surrounding sexual and reproductive health and educated patients to empower them and overcome any stigma or shame. Christina is eager to begin her time as a MCH CoE trainee. She looks forward to learning and developing professionally through collaboration with experienced faculty, fellow trainees, and the diverse communities of Los Angeles. Upon completion of her degree, Christina hopes to work for several years as a Registered Nurse before entering into a Nurse Practitioner program to fulfill her goal of becoming a provider who champions health equity. During these next two years as a trainee, this program will anchor Christina to her main reasons for pursuing a career in medicine: advocacy, empathy, and serving women and children in the future.
