Daniel Puneky, MD
Internal Medicine
Dr. Daniel Puneky is a Clinical Instructor in the UCLA Department of Medicine, and an adult primary care physician in Beverly Hills. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and certified as an HIV Specialist by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. His clinical interests include care of members of the LGBTQ community, HIV primary care and prevention including PrEP and PEP, as well as preventative medicine.
Dr. Puneky's philosophy is maintaining wellness through a collaborative partnership with his patients. He strives to recognize the unique physical, mental, emotional and psychosocial aspects that contribute to the health of each individual, and utilize them to promote well being.
Dr. Puneky received his medical education at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan. He stayed on to serve as Chief Medical Resident, where he was intimately involved in resident and medical student education as well as quality improvement and performance enhancement in the health system. He received his undergraduate degree in Dance from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
Although he was born in New Orleans, Dr. Puneky was raised in a small, college town in Virginia where he first discovered his love for ballet, modern dance, and the theater. When he isn't taking care of patients, Dr. Puneky enjoys travel photography, hiking, cooking, and spending time with his miniature Australian Shepherd.
Dr. Puneky is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Academy of HIV Medicine, and American Medical Association.
