Elaine L. Rosen, MD
- Adolescent Medicine
About
Dr. Rosen received her BA from Rice University and her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She completed her Pediatric Residency at UCLA School of Medicine.
For the first fifteen years of her career, she worked as a pediatrician in private practice. In 2009 she transitioned to a specialty focus in weight management and eating disorders, creating a multidisciplinary team to evaluate, prevent, and treat these issues in a community practice setting.
Dr. Rosen brought this experience to UCLA in 2017, joining the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine. She has created and developed two programs for patients with eating disorders/disordered eating. The Nourish for Life outpatient program provides multidisciplinary assessment and treatment for these known or suspected concerns. The Medical Stabilization Program at UCLA Santa Monica Hospital treats those with the most severe consequences of malnutrition. Both programs serve patients from childhood through their mid-20s.
Her clinical interests include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, ARFID (avoidant restrictive food intake disorder, or very picky eaters), and other eating/feeding disorders. Her research interests include lesser-described medical complications seen during the refeeding of malnourished patients.
