UCLA offers significant opportunities for unique educational experiences, no matter what level of experience you have or type of education you are seeking. Some of our programs include:

CME

The purpose of the Office of Continuing Medical Education, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is to support the continuing education needs of the medical community by providing high-quality, evidence-based activities designed to narrow the professional practice gaps of its learners. This is accomplished by the development and production of both live courses (conferences, single- and multi-day clinical symposia, regularly scheduled series, webinars) and enduring materials (including internet activities).

Live Courses

Faculty at the David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) lecture at multiple conferences throughout the year in their area of expertise. These live courses are designed to help clinicians maintain and upgrade clinical skills and knowledge, keep abreast of new and evolving medical concepts pertaining to effective diagnostic and treatment strategies, remain current with basic science research, and foster professional development in procedural skills, communication and teaching skills, and bioethics. Attendees also earn American Medical Association (AMA) Physician’s Recognition Award (PRA) credits.

Grand Rounds and Online CME

UCLA specialty departments hold weekly Grand Rounds, providing DGSOM faculty the opportunity to present complex medical cases and foster treatment discussion among clinicians. These discussions are an integral part of continuing medical education and allow faculty to disseminate new research information.

International physician observers are able to attend Grand Round lectures and learn new patient evaluation protocols, innovations in treatment, and recent research discoveries.

Grand Rounds are recorded and available online to our international partner sites through our International Distance Learning Program. For more information, please contact [email protected].
