Dr Jalilian is a physician-engineer with clinical and research interests that intersect and include digital health and remote sensing, artificial intelligence, telemedicine, and quality improvement.  Her academic research focuses on the development and implementation of medical technologies, including machine learning models, into the clinical realm in order to improve patient care and safety and operational efficiency across a variety of healthcare settings.  Her health services research focuses on telemedicine implementation, cost-effectiveness, and patient outcomes.  Her quality improvement research pertains to the standardization of OR-to-ICU handoffs and transitions of care in surgical patients.
