Dr. Manuel Mendoza is a primary care physician who practices at UCLA Health MPTF Toluca Lake location in Burbank. He is board certified in family medicine, and his goal is to develop a strong partnership with his patients, including those in the LGBT and Latino communities. He has a passion for fitness and exercise, and always encourages his patients to make healthy lifestyle choices.
Dr. Mendoza received his medical degree from the Oregon Health & Sciences University in Portland. He moved to Los Angeles in 2010, and completed his residency training in family medicine at UCLA in Santa Monica. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he earned a degree in Spanish Literature.
In his free time, Dr. Mendoza loves to travel, dance and enjoy time with his partner and his friends.

The nurse said check me in very nice very informative. Dr. Mandoza came in A few minutes later, talk with me, dr. Mandoza asked how he’s feeling. I explained I was asking for a few referrals. He talked with me explained what was going on. When I left, I felt we were both on the same page. dr. Mandoza has taken care of me for several years and always been there for me. I do appreciate him. Good doctor.

I didn’t have a great experience with my doctor which isn’t my PCP. I felt rushed and unheard and he interrupted me and corrected me on something that made me feel small. Every one has off days but I was a little disappointed by this experience.

I wrote a complaint in my account. He prescribed meds that shouldn't be taken together so the pharmacy wouldn't give me either prescription. He never warned me about interactions and didn't anticipate my not being able to fill the Rx. The on-calll doctor refused to approve even just one of the prescriptions and refused to take to me. I spent hours at the pharmacy and on the phone dealing with this. Very disappointed in both doctors.

I wanted a doctors opinion of a bad burn. I gave myself on my wrist. It happened six days before my visit and was already healing, but I wanted to make sure it was healing properly and not infected. Dr. Mendoza assured me with confidence that it was fine. Short happy visit.

I asked for two referrals to specific doctors I have seen in the past. I was given referrals to doctors I have never heard of. One if the doctors was no longer at the location indicated in the referral. I called and asked for the referrals to be changed to the doctors I requested. I was told later that the changes were made. My insurance had no notification of changes to the referrals. All in all it was a complete waste of my time.

The video visit did not meet my expectations of what a doctor appt should be. This was my first time having Covid so I wanted to make sure I was following protocols and getting as much info as possible. The doctor was very short with me, quickly noted that I did not need Paxlovid treatment and would have ended the call if I had not started asking questions.

I always feel rushed and he always forgets I have high triglycerides and thinks that every time they are high it’s because I didn’t fast even though I did. The lower numbers were after hi prescribed medication. Not sure why this keeps being an issue.
