Music Therapy Internship
Music Therapy Internship at UCLA Health
Our music therapy internship is for students working toward board certification in music therapy. Interns gain experience providing music therapy services to adults and children in inpatient units across UCLA Health.
Our music therapy supervisor works closely with the internship coordinator at your current university to develop an individualized experience for you. The part-time, 1,040-hour clinical internship involves:
- Assessment and feedback from a clinical supervisor
- Hands-on experience providing music therapy to your own patient panel
- Monthly team retreats focused on self-care
- Opportunities to delve into specialty areas, such as neurologic music therapy, neonatal music therapy and medical music therapy
- Personal and professional development exercises
- Weekly intensive group supervision experiences
Our curriculum focuses on building self-awareness and self-care practices while gaining clinical intervention skills. We value your individual growth and success, helping you become a well-rounded, resilient clinician.
We offer an internship stipend generously provided by the Children’s Music Fund. Our team will provide more details about the stipend upon program acceptance.
