About
Dr. Wong is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Health Services Research at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is a board-certified general internist who earned his MD from UCSF and completed residency training at Cornell/New York Hospital. He has a PhD in Public Health/Health Services Research and his research focuses on the impact of schools and school environments on health over the life course. This works seeks to understand the complex dynamics of cognitive and socioemotional development during adolescence and its downstream effects on health and well-being through adulthood. As the director of the UCLA/CTSI Healthy Neighborhood Schools Initiative, his team develops, tests, and disseminates school-based interventions to improve the health of low-income adolescents in Los Angeles.
