Adventures in Knowledge

“Letting people know what therapies are available is critical because if the patient considers these therapies too late they may not qualify,” says Dr. Eugene DePasquale, associate director in the Advanced Heart Failure, Heart Transplant and Mechanical Circulatory Support Program attending the annual UCLA Heart Failure Symposium. “This event focuses on treatments for heart failure, and it’s meant to share the knowledge of these therapies with the full community of physicians, nurses and patients. It’s not just the physician selecting patients for these therapies, it’s important for the patient and their families to be engaged in this because this is a life-long adventure for some of them.”
