“When Santa connects with the child, you see their eyes light up and their heart open, and it’s just a sweet moment,” reflects Bob Anger, who has been wearing the red suit as Santa Claus for more than 25 years. “I’m honored to be Santa Claus here with the Santa Monica Fire Department. We’re visiting the room of children at UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica to spread some holiday cheer. I had a little boy ask me if he could take over as Santa, and that was a first. I said if he works on his generosity and love, he probably could. We can all cultivate that jolly.”
