“We have a lot of people who don’t speak English and some of the volunteers speak other languages. I can help patients and their families who speak Spanish and French,” says Pilar Mac Daniel, pictured left, a volunteer at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center's Information Desk.
Patty Kadivar, pictured right, says, “Volunteering gives us a good feeling. For example, this morning there was an older gentleman being admitted and his poor wife was carrying a suitcase, a bag, and pushing him at the same time. I got up and carried the bags for her. I was happy to be able to help them. It’s those moments that are so special.”
