“Even though I’m not able to be there in person, to comfort a patient or bring hope, by doing this I’m able to give back,” affirms Joash Wampande, an administrative assistant at UCLA Health who is raising money to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society during the Light the Night Walk on November 9th. “Blood cancer treatments are really expensive. For me, I want to help the people who don’t have enough money, so they’re able to live longer. Life is beautiful, and no one deserves to have cancer. Events like this really give me the drive to help the community and get my family involved. I hope to do something to help people live longer and happier.”
