UCLA Health clinic helps ensure survivors of pediatric and adolescent cancer don’t get lost in transition

After treatment ends, the Pediatric and Adolescent Survivorship Clinic steps in to address the range of potential effects survivors may face.
A fotonovela - a photo-based booklet with text bubbles for dialogue - helps patients understand the health care system and get the care they need.
“We’ve taken these national educational tools that are very dense and wordy and made them understandable for teens and young adults and their family members,” said Dr. Jaqueline Casillas, of her fotonovelas.
