“The Mobile Clinic Project at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA has been a weekly reminder to me of why I chose to pursue a career in medicine,” says Kwang Kim, a student in the MD/MBA program. “My passion for medicine is rooted in a desire to see the marginalized people in our communities being valued as human beings regardless of their status. Student-run organizations, like the Mobile Clinic Project, allow me to put into practice what I have always wanted to do. It is so easy to wait to be more established in my career before serving the community around me. But instead, the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA has given me an amazing opportunity to get to work now even as a medical student, so that what I do now will translate into what I will be doing ten years from now. It is truly an honor to be part of such an impactful community.”
