I have struggled with weight all my life. I’ve tried several diets and thought “this is the one.” Only to find I would put the weight back on and then some. I knew the older I got it would be harder for it to come off. I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety which then I turned to emotional eating. My doctor told me if I wanted to live long enough to see my granddaughters grow up I needed to make some serious changes. I have a family history of high blood pressure and that was happening to me.
I decided to research having bariatric surgery. It was the best decision I have ever made. With my doctor, we made the decision to have the Gastric Sleeve surgery. Not only do I feel great, I am able to play with my grandkids and not get tired or out of breath. This also helped to get my BMI down so that I could donate a kidney so my wife could receive a kidney. I had my bariatric surgery in September of 2018 and donated my kidney on June 2019. My only regret I have is that I didn’t do it sooner.
