Dr. Hans David Ulmert, a new member of the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, is being honored by the Society for Basic Urologic Research with their annual Young Investigator Awards.
Ulmert is an assistant professor in residence of molecular and medical pharmacology in the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He also is director of UCLA’s preclinical theranostics program. His clinical research is focused on the study of risk factors and targetable biomarkers related to clinically diagnosed prostate cancer.
To be selected for the award, honorees must be a member of the society, under the age of 45 and in the first five years of their first faculty position. They must also have made significant contributions to urologic research. The awards committee names the winner based on academic accomplishments.
The Society for Basic Urologic Research has 470 members who include researchers and clinicians. The society provides an opportunity for the presentation and discussion of basic scientific topics about urology, as well as opportunities to discuss advancements in the field of urology.
