Hector Rodriguez, PhD, MPH

Dr. Hector Rodriguez was inducted into the National Academy of Medicine for his work integrating organization science theories and methods to assess the impact of health care team and primary care re-organization on patient engagement, patient experience of care, and outcomes particularly for vulnerable populations. Dr. Rodriguez is the principal investigator for the UC Berkeley team, a Henry J. Kaiser Endowed Professor and Chair in Organized Health Systems at UC Berkeley, and the Director of the California Initiative for Health Equity & Action.

Carol M. Mangione, MD, MSPH, FACP

Dr. Carol Mangione was elected to the National Academy of Medicine for her work pioneering the understanding of how system-level interventions, benefit design, and cost sharing affect quality and outcomes for low-income persons with diabetes. Dr. Mangione is the co-lead of the NEXT-D2 network, the co-principal investigator of the UCLA team, the Division Chief of General Internal Medicine and Health Services Research, and holds the Barbara A. Levey & Gerald S. Levey Endowed Chair in medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
