Primary Care Medicine Blocks
Primary Care Medicine Blocks
Each Primary Care resident class participates together in two 2-week Primary Care Medicine (PCM) block rotations each year. PCM is a two week block when the 12 residents in a given primary care residency year (6 in each track) have protected time for reflection, didactics, clinic, community site visits, group projects, and socializing. Residents have time to work on specialized primary care training modules, like asylum training, buprenorphine training, ultrasound, and procedures. These rotations provide in-depth learning in primary care. Since the entire primary care class joins together for PCM blocks, these rotations deepen the sense of community within our program.
Our primary care blocks include educational themes meant to broaden the primary care provider’s role beyond the clinical setting and supplement the professional career of our residents.
