We have two categories of ophthalmologist trainees.
The first is fellows who have completed medical school, an internship, and 3 years of ophthalmology residency training. Our fellows are currently undergoing an additional year of anterior segment eye surgery training. A UCLA faculty ophthalmologist supervises their procedures. Charges associated with fellow care are shown below.
The charges are per eye and should be doubled if both eyes will undergo surgery.

The second consists of 3rd year residents who have completed medical school, an internship, and 2 years of ophthalmology residency training. A UCLA faculty ophthalmologist supervises their procedures. Charges associated with resident care are shown below.
The charges are per eye and should be doubled if both eyes will undergo surgery.

Any required enhancement or treatment of a complication will be performed by a trainee, often different from the one who performed the initial procedure, but under faculty supervision, if a discounted service is chosen.

The 10% Bruin discount is not available to those electing the trainee discount.
