Operation Mend is the only program in the nation dedicated to providing specialized surgical care and psychological care for visible AND invisible wounds of war among post-9/11 veterans, service members injured in the line of duty and their caregivers, at no cost.

Our Holistic Approach 

Operation Mend heals the wounds of war by providing our nation's post-9/11 military, veterans, and family members with innovative, comprehensive and world-class care for the physical and psychological wounds of war.

Physical

We provide specialized surgical care from the highly esteemed medical directors of UCLA Health Operation Mend.

Integrative

We offer east-west medicine in the form of art and equine therapy, qigong, acupressure, nutrition guidance, and occupational therapy.

Brain Health

Our innovative traumatic brain injury programs are designed to promote brain health and wellness.

PTSD

Our post-traumatic stress intensive treatment program is designed to address symptoms of post-traumatic stress and promote healing and wellness.

Support Operation Mend

All funding for the care of our wounded warriors and their families comes from the support of grateful Americans.

Known as the Walking Man of Murphys, Ric Ryan is a pivotal supporter of Operation Mend. Ric is a Vietnam War veteran who has raised over $200,000 for wounded warriors by walking and spreading his joy to strangers. Meet Ric Ryan

Volunteer

The Buddy Program is strategically designed to cater to the nonmedical needs of warriors and their caregivers. Operation Mend Buddies offer companionship, arrange sightseeing trips, share meals, and extend a friendly hand during treatment while at UCLA Health Operation Mend.
