Exemplars

  • In May 2022, 4MN achieved 12 months of zero central-line associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) in the adult medicine patients. I trained staff on standardized line care practices and mentored 4MN infection prevention team.
  • In 2020, 4MN received the AACN Beacon Award of Excellence Silver Level. This designation reflects exemplary outcomes in patient safety, prevention of hospital acquired conditions, patient/family and staff satisfaction, staff engagement, and staff safety. I provided expertise and support to frontline staff to assess and improve systems processes, help lead and participate in practice changes to ensure that care is evidence-based, safe, high-quality, and cost-effective to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
  • From 2014-2018, 4MN achieved over 5 years of zero hospital-acquired pressure injuries (HAPI) incidence in the adult medicine patients using a comprehensive HAPI prevention program with bundled interventions and addressing the patient’s individualized risk factors and needs. I mentored the skin prevalence team to publish the outcomes in a peer-reviewed nursing journal after 2 years of zero HAPI.
  • In 2018, UCLA-SM achieved Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Core Center accreditation. I work with an interprofessional team to provide and ensure quality care to hospitalized adult CF patients. I provide support and education to the nursing staff on the management of the CF patient and examine processes to improve overall delivery of care along the continuum of care for these patients.
