Karen Philip
Karen was born and raised in Newton, MA. She graduated from Tuft University in 1987 with a degree in International Relations and earned her JD from New York University School of Law. She started her career at Goodwin Procter in Boston then moved to Los Angeles where she joined Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher’s LA office. She then became Assistant General Counsel at the University of Southern California.
Upon returning to Boston, Karen worked as an attorney at Boston University Medical Center and as Director of Recruiting at Choate, Hall and Stewart. She is currently a recovering attorney. She ran her own event planning business for ten years and is currently the co-founder and co-president of Tell Me A Story, a company that writes and creates legacy books for individuals and families.
Karen served on the Board of the Boston Children’s Hospital League, serving as President for three years. While President, she served on the Boston Children’s Hospital Trust Board.
Karen is married to Operation Mend Board member, Ted Philip. They have three daughters and currently live in Jupiter, FL.
