Laurie Gordon

Laurie Gordon is the Chair of the UCLA Santa Monica Board of Advisors. She established the Max Gray Fund for Treatment of Mood Disorders in October 2014 in loving memory of her son, Max. Laurie raises funds for post-doctoral fellows in the Child and Adolescent, and Adult Mood Disorders Clinics at the Semel Institute at UCLA. She also serves on the Leadership Council of the UCLA Depression Grand Challenge.
In October 2018, Laurie and her husband Steven created the UCLA Laurie and Steven Gordon Commitment to Cure Parkinson’s Disease at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. This initiative will provide funding for multidisciplinary research, establish five endowed chairs in fields related to Parkinson’s, and support a recently opened PET/MRI facility where the mechanisms of the disease will be more closely examined.
Laurie is a current member and Immediate Past Chair of the Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital Board of Advisors, and also a member of the Advisory Boards of Operation Mend and UCLA Head and Neck Surgery. Laurie earned her J.D. degree from Hofstra University School of Law in New York. She was formerly Vice President of Warner Bros. International Theatres.
