Alexander S. Fein, MD

Dr. Alexander Fein is a neuro-ophthalmologist with expertise in diagnosing and managing conditions such as ischemic optic neuropathy, myasthenia gravis, nystagmus, and optic neuritis. He practices at the UCLA Stein Eye Institute in Westwood, and Doheny Eye Center UCLA in Pasadena, where he provides compassionate, patient-centered care. 

Dr. Fein earned his medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University, where he first developed his passion for neuro-ophthalmology. After completing his internship at Mount Sinai Hospitals in New York City, he pursued a neurology residency at New York University, serving as chief resident for education. He further specialized in neuro-ophthalmology through a fellowship at NYU, developing interests in optic neuritis, paraneoplastic disorders, and nystagmus.

An active member of the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society (NANOS), Dr. Fein contributes to advancing the field through professional committee service. With a strong background in science education as a former teacher, he is dedicated to mentoring future medical professionals and enhancing understanding of complex neuro-ophthalmic conditions.
