About

Amanda Sweet is a licensed and board-certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) who works in the Santa Barbara hematology/oncology office. As a PA-C, Amanda works in close collaboration with the physicians to manage and treat all types of oncology and hematology patients. She is a highly trained medical provider, and helps to increase direct patient access to all aspects of their cancer care. She prioritizes whole patient wellness and education.

Amanda received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biopsychology at the University of California at Santa Barbara. She later attended graduate school at James Madison University in Virginia, where she completed their physician assistant program. After graduating, she initially worked in primary care for nearly seven years before settling into oncology in 2012. Before she joined UCLA Health, she worked in a private Hematology/Oncology practice in Santa Barbara. She looks forward to the patient opportunities presented by joining a large academic institution.

Amanda grew up on the Central Coast and has called Santa Barbara home for over 17 years. When she's not working, she enjoys doing all things outdoors, particularly skiing, and spending time with family and friends.
