Brett Schussel has taken on varying roles as a nurse practitioner at UCLA Medical Center since receiving his Masters of Science degree from UCLA in 2012. After spending several years in Thoracic Surgery, Brett was chosen by the Department of Radiology to create a comprehensive lung cancer screening program for the hospital system. He is passionate about lung cancer screening and the importance creating a multidisciplinary approach to both screening and treatment. He is involved in lung cancer research and is continually altering and updating the current screening program to improve outcomes for patients, as well as reimbursement opportunities for the hospital system. Brett has obtained a National Certificate in Tobacco Treatment Practice through the Association for Addiction Professionals and runs a clinic for tobacco cessation.
Brett Serves as the Nurse Practitioner Supervisor for the Interventional Radiology clinic locations across UCLA Health.
