About
Dr Bonnet is Assistant Professor in the Cornea Division, UCLA Stein Eye Institute, where she specializes in the clinical and surgical treatment of corneal diseases, and conducts research on limbal stem cell deficiency, ocular surface diseases, and corneal imaging. Her surgical areas include endothelial keratoplasty (DSEK and DMEK), deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK), penetrating keratoplasty, limbal stem cell transplantation, artificial cornea, refractive surgery, cross-linking, and cataract.
Dr Bonnet obtained her medical degree at Rouen University. She completed her residency training in ophthalmology at Pierre et Marie Curie University, and graduated with a fellowship in cataract and refractive surgery at Paris Descartes University. She subsequently graduated with an international research fellowship in cornea diseases and surgery at UCLA Stein Eye Institute. She obtained her PhD in cell biology from Paris Cité Université and UCLA, summa cum laude, publishing several papers advancing the understanding of limbal stem cell biology in major peer-reviewed journals.
In addition to caring for patients with corneal diseases, Dr Bonnet is committed to advancing the field of ophthalmology. Her research focuses on developing new therapies to treat limbal stem cell deficiency as well as using multi-modal corneal imaging to improve the diagnosis and monitoring of limbal stem cell deficiency and other corneal diseases.
