About
Dr. Jeff Fujimoto is a Medical Director of Ambulatory Quality for the UCLA Health Department of Medicine. He is also a sports medicine and internal medicine physician who practices in Santa Monica and is an assistant clinical professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He is board certified in both sports medicine and internal medicine.
Dr. Fujimoto is interested in population health and primary care innovations. His work focuses on advancing quality improvement initiatives in the Department of Medicine. He also looks forward to building a robust sports medicine practice. During his sports medicine fellowship with Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute, he worked with teams such as the Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Galaxy, Angel City Football Club, and Anaheim Ducks. Prior to his medical career, Dr. Fujimoto was on the US National Team for judo and competed in the 2008 Olympic Trials. He continues to give back to the judo community as Medical Director of Nanka Southern California Judo and sits on the Medical Advisory Committee for USA Judo.
Dr. Fujimoto received his medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and completed his internal medicine residency at UCLA. Concurrently with his MD, he completed an MBA at UCLA Anderson School of Management. He subsequently completed a primary care sports medicine fellowship with Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe. He received a BS in bioengineering from UC Berkeley where he graduated with honors.
Dr. Fujimoto is a native of Los Angeles and in his free time enjoys playing and watching all sports, spending time with his wife and dog, and trying new restaurants in Los Angeles.
