About
Dr. Juan José Andino is a Urologist who specializes in the evaluation and management of sexual medicine, and male infertility. He is fellowship-trained and completed his fellowship training in Male Reproductive Medicine & Surgery at UCLA. He is devoted to treating patients who are dealing with erectile dysfunction who do not respond to or are not candidates for oral medications, priapism (ischemic, high flow, and recurrent as seen in sickle cell), penile curvature or Peyronie’s disease, and helping couples with male infertility including genetic conditions like Klinefelter's disease and Cystic Fibrosis; prior vasectomy; and oncofertility, where sperm freezing before iatrogenic infertility or surgical sperm extraction after chemo/radiation may be needed to achieve a pregnancy.
His surgical practice is focused on optimizing sexual and reproductive function including first-time and revision penile implants or prostheses (inflatable and malleable), penoscrotal decompression to treat prolonged priapism, surgery to correct penile curvature, testicular implants/prostheses, and microsurgery including varicocele repairs, sperm retrievals, and vasectomy reversals (both simple and complex reconstructions).
He has specialized training in office-based procedures including Xiaflex (Collagenase clostridium histolyticum) injections for Peyronie’s disease, penile injection teaching for men with advanced erectile dysfunction, and penile doppler ultrasound for men with severe ED, prior priapism, or Peyronie's who require surgical treatment.
Beyond his clinical interests, Dr. Andino has developed his academic career by studying and advocating for telehealth to improve access to specialty care. More recently, he has been involved in regional and national efforts to develop resources for Spanish-speaking physicians, providers, and patients for sexual medicine and infertility.
Dr. Andino has completed the UCLA Spanish language proficiency testing and can care for Spanish-speaking patients in their native tongue. He has a dual appointment with Martin Luther King Jr Community Healthcare (Wilmington clinic), where he has established a new Men's Health center so that patients in south LA have equal access to specialty care for sexual and reproductive health.
