About

Dr. Judy Chen is an assistant clinical professor at the UCLA Department of Ophthalmology. She provides patient care at the UCLA Stein Eye Institute in Westwood and the Doheny Eye Centers UCLA in Pasadena and Arcadia. She is board-certified and specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma, cataracts, and uveitis and inflammatory eye diseases. With her multispecialty training, Dr. Chen takes a thoughtful, personalized approach to care, focusing on early disease detection and effective treatment.

Dr. Chen earned her medical degree from UCLA and completed her ophthalmology residency at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago. She pursued advanced clinical fellowships in uveitis at UCLA and glaucoma at UC Davis. Her diverse training allows her to deliver high-quality, comprehensive care to her patients.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Chen is actively involved in research and education. Her research interests include uveitic and steroid-induced glaucoma, as well as the perioperative management of uveitis patients. She has contributed to several peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and clinical trials for innovative uveitis and glaucoma treatments. Dr. Chen is also passionate about teaching and mentors fellows, residents, and medical students at the UCLA Stein Eye Institute and Doheny Eye Centers UCLA.

Dr. Chen is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Uveitis Society, and the American Glaucoma Society.
