Leanna L. Huard, MD

Dr. Leanna Huard obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of San Diego and her medical degree from Albany Medical College in New York. She completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Loma Linda University Medical Center, followed by fellowship training in Pediatric Critical Care at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital. She joined the faculty at UCLA in 2015 and is currently an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care at the David Geffen School of Medical at UCLA.

Dr. Huard has an academic interest in medical education and currently serves at the Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Critical Care fellowship program at UCLA. She is actively involved in fellowship curriculum design and simulation education for fellows, residents, and medical students. Her research interests include multicenter clinical trials and she has co-authored several papers through these collaborations. Additional areas of interest include palliative and end-of-life care within the ICU setting. Clinically, she works primarily in the Pediatric Cardiothoracic ICU and also attends at Totally Kids, a sub-acute care facility for children with chronic medical needs.

Dr. Huard is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care and in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
