About

Mai-King Chan, MD completed her undergraduate studies at Harvard University and then medical school at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons (previously Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons). She did her pediatric residency at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, University Hospitals (Case Western Reserve University).  There, she was given the honor to spend an additional year after graduation as chief resident.  Prior to coming to UCLA, she worked at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital and later, Boston Children’s Hospital (Harvard University) as a pediatric hospitalist and pediatric emergency room physician.  Dr. Chan is a pediatric hospitalist attending and faculty member at UCLA.  She cares for hospitalized pediatric patients at both UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital and UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center.  Her main interests are medical education, patient communication, and coping mechanisms of hospitalized children.  She is actively involved in the education and mentorship of residents and medical students.  Through outstanding medical teaching and clinical care of the highest standard, Dr. Chan’s goal is to better the quality of life for children and their families.
