About

Dr. Ricky Savjani is an Assistant Professor in the UCLA Department of Radiation Oncology. Dr. Savjani graduated from MIT with two Bachelor of Science degrees in Brain and Cognitive Sciences and Electrical Engineering/Computer Science. He earned his MD and PhD from Texas A&M College of Medicine with his thesis work in mapping the functional organization of the human brain with functional MRI. After finishing his transitional year at the University of Chicago (NorthShore), Dr. Savjani completed his residency in Radiation Oncology here at UCLA. While in residency, Dr. Savjani conducted an ASTRO-sponsored fellowship at Varian, A Siemens Healthineers Company, as well as completed the American Board of Radiology Holman Research Pathway.

Dr. Savjani specializes in the utilization of radiation therapy to treat patients with cancers of the brain, spine, and head & neck. Dr. Savjani also runs a multidisciplinary lab building innovations in informatics, imaging-based AI, and a variety of technology applications. Dr. Savjani's lab has been generously supported by both national agencies and industry including the National Institute of Health, the American Society of Radiation Oncology, the Radiological Society of North America, Varian, Siemens, NVIDIA, Google, Amazon, StratPharma, and several additional foundations. Dr. Savjani combines excellence in research and innovation to provide patients with state-of-the-art care.
