About
Shant Shekherdimian MD, MPH, joined the pediatric surgery faculty at UCLA in 2014. He completed his general surgery residency at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and pediatric surgery fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Dr. Shekherdimian holds board certifications in General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
Dr Shekherdimian's clinical interests include neonatal surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and surgical management of inflammatory bowel diseases. His research interests focus on developing innovative treatment options for children with short bowel syndrome. Dr. Shekherdimian is also an active global health researcher, focusing on health systems strengthening and development of quality improvement initiatives in post-Soviet nations.
