About

Dr. Hoffman is a Clinical Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She completed medical school at UCLA and combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics residency and a Master of Public Health degree at Harvard University. Following training in adult Infectious Diseases at UCLA, she joined the UCLA Division of Infectious Diseases as a faculty member in 2010. Dr. Hoffman's research focuses on HIV co-morbidities, as well as on the implementation of HIV service delivery in resource-constrained settings. She has performed collaborative research with teams in Malawi, Zambia, South Africa, and Brazil. Since 2009, she has served on the leadership team of a large PEPFAR/USAID grant that is a collaboration between Partners in Hope, a nonprofit medical center in Malawi, and the UCLA Division of Infectious Diseases. She is a member of the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG) and International Maternal Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials Network (IMPAACT), participating as an investigator on randomized clinical trials focused on improving clinical treatment strategies for pregnant and postpartum women living with HIV globally. Dr. Hoffman has been active in global health education at the David Geffen School of Medicine and served as the Director of the Global Health Program from 2018-2022. She practices outpatient HIV medicine at To Help Everyone Health and Wellness, a federally qualified health center in south Los Angeles, and participates in the clinical and research training of infectious diseases fellows at UCLA.
