Scientific Interests
Dr. Timothy Deming's research group focuses on the development of synthetic polypeptide materials for biomedical applications. A significant part of this research is focused on delivery of therapeutics using polypeptide encapsulants, including polypeptide vesicles, emulsions, micelles and polypeptide coated virus particles. Two projects in this research area are targeted at treating prostate cancer via gene therapy (with Dr. Lily Wu) and inhibiting angiogenesis in tumors (with Prof. Daniel Kamei).
