Care Compliments

Sue R.

To Rachelle: Thanks for taking extra care of me after my elective procedure. You were especially considerate and I hope I didn't ask for too much! Funny thing: You wake up and think you're totally coherent and...you're not! In fact, I had anesthesia with me for a while. I know people have much more to deal with than I did, and appreciate your concern. Date of procedure: 10/14/20

Denis, thanks for taking extra care and helping me with my pain on the night of 10/14/20. I especially appreciate the concern, since my stuff was elective. I feel fortunate to have had your help and think you were so on top of things. All the best...Stephanie R.

Roman D.

Roman, RN in the ED was professional, skilled, and kind. He made my elderly mother feel safe and listened to. He was patient and cheerful. He gave good information and clearly makes patient care a priority. I witnessed him interacting with patients and families all around us (in two languages), without ever seeming rushed or as if he didn't have time for the patient who was in front of him. His clear competence was incredibly comforting. It was hard to leave my ill, elderly mother at the ED in the middle of the night, but knowing that professionals like Roman are caring for her made it easier.

I have been a patient of Dr Cavallero who works in the Thousand Oaks facility at 100 Moody Ct. Dr Cavallero is the best doctor that I have ever had. He is patient, takes time to explain things to me, and is always plant to deal with. If there is something that I don't understand I am not afraid to ask for more details so that I understand what he is talking about. Dr Cavallero is very prompt with replying to my emails and is always willing to fit me into his schedule if his schedule is full.

Thank you for having such an awesome doctor working for UCLA. He is definitely a keeper.

Jeremy I.

Hello! I have been a UCLA patient since 1991. I have never written a compliment (though I have had great care from Dr. Anita Agzarian (retired) and Dr. Erin Noren.) But I have to give a HUGE "shout out" to Dr. Jeremy Ing. I saw him on July 8th for a meniscus tear and popliteal cyst. He has kept in constant contact with me and reaches out to check on my progress. His support and advice and medical help has been extraordinary . Though I hope not to have any more sports injuries, I will always go to Dr. Ng and have recommended him to everyone I know. Thank you so much.

Nurse Olson took such wonderful care of me after my surgical procedure - with anesthesia - the last week of September 2020. She treated me like I was a VIP and just knew how to make me comfortable. I woke up to her wonderful smile and calming and compassionate manner, and I immediately felt safe and secure. She also kept my sister, who brought me, informed of my progress. I have been in this unit many times, and all the nurses and staff have always provided the best care of any place I have ever been. Thank you to everybody on the 2nd floor surgical unit.

Angela M.

Dear Angela-
Thank you for the incredible, caring services you provide for my children in Pasadena.
My vaccine nervous children will only go to you for care, and your gentle interaction with them is so valued. For years, my daughter has been terrified to get a shot, making health care experiences challenging for her (and her parents). With your skill and talents, we have a way to ensure she is healthy, protected, and well. Both Sofia and Christian say "Angela is a wonderful person!"

With appreciation-

Demonstrating patient, kind, understanding, professional, knowledgeable, helpful service in a wonderful, relaxing environment. Jo ([email protected]) fully accommodated my teaching my students remotely while I received my transfusion and were both incredibly supportive and motivational in their embrace of my feelings and needs. to perform my duties as a primary grade teacher for LAUSD and a patient facing end of life choices per oncologist diagnoses. It was a great experience.

ELMEN U.

I had a kidney transplant at the very end of February 2020. I was in the hospital for the first week of March 2020. A very kind and competent nurse named Elmen took care of me several days during my stay. Even though it has been many months past, I came across a note to myself that I wanted to thank him and decided he was worth the effort to figure out how to do it. I was in a very miserable state and he did everything he could to make things more tolerable. He was also very kind to my sister every time she came to visit and went out of his way to make her comfortable as well. All of the nurses who took care of me were great, but he stands out. I felt very safe and secure under his care.

Richard P.

We met Richard P., Discharge Pharmacist during our release from inpatient stay after my husbands serious cardiac surgery. Richard was phenomenal, compassionate and caring as he methodically ensured we could leave the hospital with the peace of mind that our meds were accurately dispensed.
After a few complications with regard to our insurance company's approval process, Richard returned with a viable solution to ensure we had all we needed for our transition to home care, He sat with us to explained each and every dosage and its purpose, which gave us the peace of mind that he cared about us as human beings.

Joel U.

Joel is a care partner. My time there was extremely stressful, painful, itchy, and overall uncomfortable. He took a lot of time to come in and care for me. He would talk to me to calm my tears. He would rub cream on my back numerous times to help with my itching. He would do this for a long time to help me. He saw that I had numerous scratch marks all over including my back and he tried his best to soothe me in my time of need. I would thank him and he said I never needed to do that. He was such a ray of light. You definitely need more people like him working in your hospital.

Christine U.

Christine was my nurse. She is extremely caring, professional, and always there when you need her. I could not have received a better nurse than Christine she never failed me and went out of her way to make me comfortable. I was in so much pain and she always soothed me and was punctual with my pain management. When I would call for her she was right there I never had to wait it was amazing the care that I received from Christine. She is one of a kind. I felt like I was her only patient. Every patient should feel that way.

Annmarie W.

My sister, Rachel, is a patient at UCLA Pain Center under the care of Dr. Ferrante, and I schedule her procedures and office visits. Annmarie Williams is one of the most efficient people I have ever dealt with in any business or personal situation. Before I retired, I had my own business for 35 years, so I can truly appreciate and marvel at her efficiency, her cheerful attitude, her competency, and her ability to make everything easy for the patient. I know she must deal with many moving parts in scheduling procedures and surgeries, especially under the constraints imposed by Covid-19, but everything is accomplished seamlessly and compassionately. We are thankful and grateful that Annmarie Williams is on the staff at UCLA Pain Center, as she is so conscientious about the care of the patients. Please ask Human Resources to note this in her employee file.

Because of Dr. Cavallero, it is even more regretful that I am moving out of the area, out of the State.

If it were possible, I would align with a doctor in my new destination EXACTLY like Dr. Cavallero.
I can say unreservedly that I feel incredibly fortunate to have been treated by Dr. Cavallero these last few years -- he has been the ultimate in ability, personableness and professionalism. My only solace is that perhaps my departure creates an opening and opportunity for someone else to receive his exemplary care.

Regards

Steve
