Why I chose UCLA: UCLA has a reputation of being a top notch academic center with high acuity. What drew me to UCLA was the robust cardiac program and the multitude of intensive care units. I knew that coming here would challenge me and expose me to a wide array of pathologies all while being taught by leaders in their respective fields. But most importantly, it was the welcoming, family- like feel that drew me in. I wanted to be at a place where I could feel supported and also feel like I am amongst friends.

Why I chose UCLA: I truly enjoyed my time at UCLA as a fourth year SubI. Particularly, complexity of patient population enticed my interest, and the culture of the department greatly aligned with my ideal work place. During my time as a resident here, I enjoyed diverse educational experience lead by some of the kindest and most caring physicians I have met. The ICU has always been of great interest to me, as I have always liked high intensity and fast-paced environments. At UCLA we truly get to experience and learn about cutting edge medical care in a team-oriented milieu, while maintaining a great work-life balance.

My wife Jes and I live in Santa Monica, where we greatly enjoy the walk/bike-ability, local restaurants, and the micro-culture. We recently became parents to our wonderful Anastasia after delivering at Santa Monica Hospital. Everyone on the team was great. We are thankful for how smooth everything went, and now we endeavor on to the infinite joys and adventures of parenthood. On my free time I enjoy cooking, scuba diving (when possible), and caring for the little garden on our condo balcony.
