Natale Naim, MD Appointed Director, Orthopedic Anesthesiology Services
We are excited to announce the appointment of Natale Naim, MD, Associate Professor, as Director, Orthopedic Anesthesiology Services in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at UCLA.
Dr. Naim joined UCLA DAPM in 2010 after completing an Anesthesiology Residency with us. She has served as the Chief of Regional Anesthesia at UCLA - Santa Monica Hospital since 2014 and has played an instrumental role in developing the regional anesthesia service at Santa Monica Hospital since then. She initiated and developed an outpatient peripheral nerve catheter program for patients at UCLA – Santa Monica Hospital, has created and implemented several ERAS programs for orthopedic surgery, and has been involved in multiple research projects in conjunction with the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. She was involved in the initiation and development of the Regional Anesthesiology and Acute Pain Fellowship and consequently has been involved in the regional anesthesia training of multiple residents, fellows, and junior faculty at UCLA and beyond.
In her role as Director, Orthopedic Anesthesiology Services, Dr. Naim will work on enhancing and creating Orthopedic Surgery protocols, clinical pathways, efficiency projects, and academic programs between the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at UCLA. She also will serve as a liaison between our two Departments and helps establish productive and professional relationships at the residents, fellows, faculty and nursing levels.
