Requesting In-Person Preoperative Consultation at PEPC
To request a same-day appointment, please have your office call our Preoperative Evaluation and Planning Center (PEPC) directly at 310-267-7280. We will need the patient’s name, the planned procedure, the procedure venue, and the name of the surgeon or the physician performing the procedure. Our clinic is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. We request that patients for same-day appointments arrive by 3 p.m. in order to give us time to review prior records and complete a comprehensive evaluation.
To refer a patient for a future PEPC in-person visit, please place a physician order in CareConnect in the Visit Navigator under the “Medications and Orders” section.

Referral to PEPC Pre-Anes Clinic Visit
There will be a prompt to select one of the following reasons for the referral:
- Complex medical history
- Verify that patient is appropriate for outpatient venue
- Anesthesiology consultation prior to decision for surgery
Please include information about the type of procedure or surgery planned, and the planned venue for the procedure, in the “Comments” section. Please include also any important instructions about timing, including the date of surgery if already known, or a need to schedule surgery within an urgent time frame or an exact number of days.
