NIH Fellowships 2022: Laila Aryan and Doug Chapski, PhD
December 6, 2022
Laila Aryan, PhD candidate in the Eghbali Lab, and Doug Chapski, PhD from the Vondriska Lab have been awarded NIH Fellowship Awards!
Laila's research, which received an NRSA Predoctoral Fellowship Award (F31), will explore the "Role of microRNA-98 in Myocardial Ischemia Reperfusion Injury in Late Pregnancy." This fellowship initiative seeks to enable promising predoctoral students to obtain individualized research training from faculty sponsors while conducting dissertation research in scientific health-related fields that are relevant to the missions of the NIH.
Dr. Chapski received an NRSA Postdoctoral Fellowship Award (F32) for his grant entitled "Genomic Structural Dynamics in Fibroblasts During Heart Failure." NRSA F32 fellowships provide support for promising postdoctoral researchers who have the potential to become productive, independent investigators within biomedical research.
This is a prestigious achievement reflecting these researchers' creativity and hard work in the lab as well as Dr. Vondriska and Dr. Eghbali’s outstanding mentorship.
Congratulations Laila and Dr. Chapski!
