SOAP 2024 Annual Meeting

May 1-5, 2024

The Annual Society of Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology (SOAP) had their annual meeting in Denver, Colorado May 1-5th. Our anesthesia department had a huge turnout with 5 residents (Drs. Jordan Franke, Kathryn Kim, Megan Lu, Nilson Wu, Allen Le), 1 fellow (Dr. Brittany Burton) and 6 attendings (Drs. Tina Yu, Catherine Cha, Jason Hirsch, Shradha Khadge, Jennifer Lucero and Cristianna Vallera). Our residents and fellow did a fantastic job with all their abstract presentations.

PGY-4 | CA-3 Resident Physician, Dr. Jordan Francke, was also selected as one of two recipients of the SOAP/Kybele International Outreach Grant. Dr. Francke's project proposal includes utilizing obstetric simulation technologies to build capacity at a residency program in Hue, Vietnam where he recently completed an SEA-HVO Travelling Fellowship in January 2024. This will allow him to return during fellowship and continue working with their residents for the next year, building a bi-directional medical education partnership particularly within OB.
