How to Apply
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements by the residency appointment date:
» Graduation from a Liaison Committee for Medical Education (LCME)-accredited medical school in the United States or Canada
» Satisfactory completion of an ACGME approved internship in medicine or surgery
» Satisfactory completion of the USMLE, Part 3
Graduates of foreign medical schools may be considered for residency appointments with proper documentation from:
ECFMG J-1 clinical visa required. More information is available through the
PTAL or California Medical License required.
Applicants who are not United States citizens should refer to the about UCLA-sponsored visas.
Application Process
Applicants to the Ophthalmology Residency Program at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA must apply through . Only applications received directly from SF Match will be considered. Deadline to submit applications is September 30.
Applicants to the EyeSTAR Program must submit a supplemental along with three and letters of recommendation. These should be sent directly to the Stein Eye Institute EyeSTAR Program following the instructions on the forms. The program administrator must receive all supplemental application materials by September 30.
Applicants to the EyeMBA Program will be instructed to complete the Anderson School of Management FEMBA application once interviews are offered.
Interviews
Applicants selected for interviews with members of the Residency Selection Committee are notified by e-mail approximately 3-4 weeks before the first interview date.
