Tailored for California's Growing Hispanic Population
In 2015, California reached a demographic milestone as the state’s Hispanics surpassed whites as the largest ethnic group in the state. Within this growing population group remain deep pockets of limited English proficiency, especially in the state’s rural and inner-urban communities.
To meet the health needs of this population, California needs more Spanish-speaking, bicultural physicians. The UCLA IMG Program selects highly-competitive Spanish-speaking, bicultural IMGs who are permanent residents or U.S. citizens, and who seek licensure to practice family medicine in California.
