Welcome to the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at UCLA. Our Department is built upon a strong legacy of compassionate patient-centric care. I received my MD and PhD at Yale University School of Medicine, trained in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at UCLA and have been fortunate to stay on as Faculty and then as Chair of this Department.

As a pioneer in the field, the vision of the Department of Head and Neck Surgery at UCLA is to passionately and relentlessly lead, innovate and inspire excellence in patient care through education, research and global community service.

We have recruited a team of gifted surgeons and researchers who are committed to our vision. Our department offers expertise in head and neck cancer, laryngology, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, rhinology and skull base surgery, otology and neurotology, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, tracheal and airway surgery, salivary gland diseases, and pediatric otolaryngology. We also have programs in voice and swallowing disorders, nutrition, active surveillance of cancer, and survivorship. Our mission is multidisciplinary patient-centric care, and we have built the administrative and nursing infrastructure to provide safe, compassionate, and personalized care. As one of the largest and most comprehensive departments in the West, we are prepared to care for all Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery conditions with the most advanced technologies and techniques.
