In addition to being at the forefront of research and training, the physicians of the UCLA Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism offer the highest-quality patient care. The Division is a leader in the diagnosis, treatment, and research of endocrine disorders.
The division’s exceptional clinical, research, and training programs work together to provide world-class treatment of endocrine disorders for our patients. The division is home to around 40 faculty physicians and scientists with experts in a variety of subspecialties of endocrinology. Additionally, the fellowship program focuses on training future leaders in the field of endocrinology.
Our division, as a part of UCLA Health, serves the greater Los Angeles area with clinics and services offered at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center and Veterans Administration. We also have clinics serving the South Bay and Northeast Valley areas. Our Locations
The faculty physicians specialize in the management of:
- Type 1 Diabetes
- Type 2 Diabetes
- Pregnancy and Diabetes
- Pituitary disorders including pituitary tumors, acromegaly, and diabetes insipidus (UCLA Pituitary Tumor and Neuroendocrine Program).
- Thyroid disorders including hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, thyroiditis, goiters
- Thyroid tumors and thyroid cancers (UCLA Endocrine Surgery Program).
- Disorders of mineral metabolism including parathyroid and calcium disorders, osteoporosis, and osteomalacia
- Adrenal disorders including Cushing's syndrome, Addison's disease, adrenal tumors, nodules and carcinomas (UCLA Pituitary Tumor and Neuroendocrine Program).
- Hypoglycemic conditions and insulin secreting tumors (UCLA Pituitary Tumor and Neuroendocrine Program).
- Tumors of the thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands, and endocrine pancreas. These and other endocrine conditions requiring surgical treatment are managed by the UCLA Endocrine Surgery Program.
- Ovarian conditions including abnormal menstrual cycles, polycystic ovary syndrome, hirsutism, infertility, perimenopause, and menopausal states
- Testicular conditions including impotence, loss of sexual interest, diminished testosterone production, hypogonadism, and infertility
- Hyperlipidemias
